Maldives

Officially called the Republic of Maldives, this South Asian country is the smallest in terms of land and population. It is located on the Indian Ocean southwest of India and Sri Lanka. The Maldives has a chain of 26 atolls consisting of around 1190 small coral islands that are grouped in clusters also called atolls. Their official language is Dhivehi which is almost like the Sinhala language of Sri Lanka.
